Andrew Treusch named Executive Advisor to Tax-Filer Empowerment Canada/Association canadienne des déclarants de revenus

Ottawa, January 17, 2020 – Tax-Filer Empowerment Canada (TFEC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Andrew Treusch as Executive Advisor to the Association.

Mr. Treusch joins TFEC following a long and distinguished career in the Public Service of Canada that culminated in his role as Commissioner and Chief Executive Officer of the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) from 2012 until his retirement in 2016. His public service career began at Finance Canada in 1984 and included roles with the Privy Council Office, Treasury Board, Human Resources and Skills Development Canada, Environment Canada, and Public Works and Government Services Canada.

“Andrew Treusch’s depth of experience and his intuitive understanding of public policy and tax administration are unmatched, and he fully shares in TFEC’s goal of working with governments to improve the tax-filing experience for all Canadians,” says Dan Pfeffer, TFEC Executive Director. “The Association and its members are excited to gain the benefit of his wise counsel.”

Formed in 2018, TFEC is the national industry association for Canada’s tax preparation and software industry. TFEC is dedicated to promoting greater collaboration between government stakeholders, including the CRA and Revenu Québec, industry, and Canadian taxpayers. The Association is committed to ensuring that all Canadians have access to impartial, accurate and accessible tax preparation and software options provided by industry in partnership with governments.

Mr. Treusch’s work with TFEC will be in accordance with all applicable conflict of interest and lobbying restrictions.
